Beowulf is captured by Grendels Mother under the lake and some sea beasts come to attack him aswell. Then Beowulf realizes that his sword doesn’t work.

Beowulf puts on his amour and got given an ancient sword called Hrunting.

“Beowulf got ready donned his war-gear indifferent to death”

I have chosen this quotation because it contains lots of strange language and I wanted to understand what it meant.

The king hunts down Grendels Mother.

“Then a bit and halter were brought for his horse”

The quotation means that the horse’s harness was brought for it. I chose this quotation because it interested me and I wanted to find out what it meant.

They dwell apart among wolves on the hills, they were both monsters living among human kind. Grendel was the most terrifying monster you could ever lay your eyes on, he was 15ft tall with fingernails the size of talons and  teeth shaper than the blade of a sword. He would savagely destroy towns and villages terrorising the people of Denmark, you would know when this horrible beast had struck from the trail of blood and bodies he left behind. As for his mother, no one knows what she looked like probably because anyone who ever saw her, she was the last thing they looked upon. Despite how unbelievebly evil she was she still loved her monstrous son Grendel because after Grendel die she made an attempt to avenge his death.
